Imperial Space Marine - Celebrating 30 years of Space Marines!

Hello everyone!

I know I'm a bit late to the party...but I just wanted to show of my version of Games Workshops cool retro looking Space Marine which was made to celebrate the 30 year anniversary of the first ever Space Marine miniature. Naturally painted it in the color of my favorite Space Marine Chapter 'Crimson Fists'.

I actually painted this when it came out, just never got around to take some proper pictures :-p

Anyway hope you enjoy :) C&C more than welcome

Crimson Fist Terminator Captain - True Scale - Captain Calico Miniatures

Hello everyone!

About 1 month ago I purchased this awesome miniature from Captain Calico Miniatures. I had seen his work on Warseer a while back and loved what he did. When I saw he was in the process of making this mini my attention peaked!

And moments after he had released it a bought one :-p

This figure is "True Scale" and I think it's about 45mm to eye height. Which makes it quite a lot larger than a normal Games Workshop Space Marine (photo comparison later).

The paint job turned out pretty well I think, some parts could have been better (they always can) and looking at the pictures I spotted something I forgot to paint >.< , will fix that later.

Anyway have some pictures ;)

Really hope you liked it, as usual comments and questions are more than welcome

Alexis Polux 'The Crimson Fist' - Finished

Hello everyone!

So I think I'm about ready to call my Forgeworld Alexis Polux finished. As mentioned in an earlier post, I decided to paint him in the colours of the Crimson Fists chapter (He was the first Chapter Master after The Second Founding) and I think it turned out rather well :)

The base was pretty fun to paint, don't think I have ever painted a scenery base like this so it was a fun exercise.

Anyway enough talk, time for more pictures!

That's it for now, I really hope you liked it.

As usual comments are more than welcome!

Alexis Polux 'The Crimson Fist' - Update

Hello everyone!

Small update today, I just wanted to show you guys how my Polux was coming along :) I know it's probably pretty much pure Heresy to paint up a Forgeworld Horus Heresy character to represent the wrong Adeptus Astartes Chapter ! but I just couldn't get myself to paint yellow (The worst of all colors) and on the second hand Polux was the first Crimson Fist Chapter Master, so technically this isn't completely wrong....Let's agree to call it a greyarea ! ;)

Anyway not much else to show at this point, hopefully I will have the figure done this week and then the base painting will begin

Until then

Chris

Sternguards & Kantors Honorguard - Games Workshop

Hello everyone!

I recently purchased a couple of GW's new Sternguard boxes, because they looked awesome and I really liked the flexibility they permitted compared to the old box. Each box contains 5 Sternguards and about 30 weapon options...so I ordered home a big pile of magnets and went to work.

It's not that I don't like my old Sternguards that I made a while ago, but these just looked too awesome not to build and paint.

I magnetized all the weapons in one of the boxes and then the combi weapons from the second. Most of the marines have magnetized arms as well.

I can't wait to begin painting these, but I probably need to paint some more Space Hulk figures first :-D but I just wanted to show them off.

Beside the new Sternguards I also wanted to make a Honor Guards for my Chapter Master Pedro Kantor. I did paint Kantor a while back, but since my skills and techniques have improved/changed since I decided to get a new one :-D

These are based of GW's Masters of the Chapter box, which contains 4 very unique and awesome Space Marine veterans with different Power Weapons. I converted them with some bits from E-bay and my Sternguard boxes. The standard bearer is just assembled from different bits I got from E-bay, a mix of normal GW and Forgeworld bits.

I'm still missing an arm for my standard bearer, but hopefully it will be in the mailbox soon.

That's it for now, hope you liked it.

Crimson Fist Terminators - Games Workshop - Second Airbrush test

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to post a few pictures of a recent WH40K test project I did a couple of weeks ago. These Terminators are from the Games Workshop Dark Vengeance Starter Set (I also have the other 3 of them ready to paint).

My first Space Marine airbrush projects turned out rather nice I think, but it got a bit to bright for a Crimson Fist Marine, so this timed I tried to get the Power Armour slightly darker.
However I feel like these could have used one more highlight on the most raised areas, just to create more contrast, but that will be next time I guess.

Here's a few more pictures.

Alexis Polux 'The Crimson Fist' - Forgeworld - 99560101415

Hello everyone!

Recently a friend of mine got me into WH40K (and well 30K) again, and also since I discovered that I can easily paint Power Armour (The bane of my previous projects) with my trusty airbrush, I thought I would give it a go :-p

Another friend of mine also recently hired me to paint his Terminators for his Space Hulk game, which I will probably be showing a few pictures of soon.

Anyway!

This figure is amazing! so much detail and a cool base. I decided to fully magnetize him so nothing in the picture is glued on (Except for the scenery which has been glued to the bases).

As soon as my current FoW and Bolt Action projects are finished, I will start painting this guy and that will probably be around the easter holiday which is coming up soon :)

Even though this figure portay Pollux as the captain of the 405th Imperial Fist Company, I think I will paint him as a Crimson Fist (Which he was the founder of), just to he matched so rest of my army (And I also don't have to paint yellow....:-D)

Also check out my friends facebook page where he is showing of his work for his Space Marine Iron Fist army and all his Horus Heresy figures :)

That's it for now
