Carcharodons Tactical Squad - #Badaboner

Hello everyone!

I just noticed I had completely forgotten to post about this project on the blog, but I semi-recently did this squad of Carcharodons for a community Badab War project.
Nothing really special about them, other than I tried using some Tortuga Bay Truescale bodies which were very fun to paint as the proportions and size are a lot better than some of GW's older Space Marine models.

Also tried to practise using Chipping Fluids as I was planning to use that on my Secret Santa project as well, so this seemed like a good place to test.

Anyway, enough text here's some more pictures.

Cheers
Chris

Sons of Horus Praetor - Model Swap with Simon Elsen

Hello everyone

So recently I did a little collaboration with Simon Elsen on Instagram. He wanted something like Falkus Kibre in Power Armour, so that is what I tried to do. I used some of the new Chaos Space Marine bits, a few 3d printed bits and some Heresy bits to create this model.

I haven't had the time to take some good pictures of the model he sent me, but I'll have to do that soon.

Anyway here are some more pictures.

Until next time
Chris

Maloghurst The Twisted - Sons of Horus - Forgeworld

Hello everyone

As promised in yesterday's posts here's my rendition of Maloghurst the Twisted.
This was such a great model to paint and in my opinion, it's one of the best models Forgeworld has made in quite some time, even though I decided to modify it slightly, as some parts were too weird or 40K for my taste.

I primarily toned down some of the trim and then replaced the gun and exhausts on the powerplant, nothing major really, but just trying to keep it inline with the rest of my army.

Anyway here are some more pictures.

Next up is another small Sons of Horus Project, but not something you'd seen me paint before, so hopefully, you'll look forward to that.

Until next time

Torghun Khan - White Scars - Tutorial - Lil'Legend

Hello everyone!

Some might remember me posting some pictures of a White Scar marines I painted as a Secret Santa gift for my friend bb_miniatures last year. What you might not know, is that I actually wrote up a little guide on how I painted it, because the legend Myles David (Lil'Legend) asked if it was something I'd be interested in. After being locked away in a top-secret drawer, Myles has just posted up the guide on his website, and you can find it right HERE. I have also added the link to my collection of Painting Guides, this way it should be easy to find.

I was actually convinced I made a post about that model on this blog, but I can't find it, so was probably just a dream.

But I'll just post some now :-D hope you enjoy and please check out the guide. If you try it out I'd love to hear how it went!

In other news I've also recently finished painting Maloghurst The Twisted, pictures are up on Instagram, but will make a post here soon with some hi-res pictures. Next project is something totally different than normal, so look forward to that.

Until next time
Chris

1st Company Master of Signal/Praevian - Sons of Horus - Forgeworld

Hello everyone

So I've recently finished this conversion in case I ever wanted to play The Black Reaving Rite of War with my Sons of Horus. The model is a combination of kits from Forgeworld, primarily the Master of Signal, Praevian and SoH Herald.

Was great fun to build and paint and I'm looking forward to trying him out in a game.
I'm currently having a little competition on Instagram to name him (runs until the 14th of August) so if you have any ideas feel free to drop by and post them on there.

Anyway! more pictures.

Now it's time to finish Maloghurst.

Until next time

Catulan Reavers - Sons of Horus - Forgeworld

Hello everyone!

Its been quite a while since my last post, but this project took a long time to complete...primarily because I really hate batch painting large units :-D but I think the result was worth it.

So I've painted a total of 15 Catulan Reavers, in 3 groups of 5 marines, so I have some options for how I run them, several small units or 1 large unit. As you will see in a later picture I did quite a lot of magnetizing on these, which also helped prolong the painting time.

Anyway enough talk, here are some pictures!

If you want to know how I painted these, check my Black Power Armour guide. The only real difference on these is that I reinforced the shadows with some thinned-down black ink after I was done airbrush highlighting. Then during the final brush highlights, I spent a bit more time glazing in the Pale Grey on the highlights.

Next up Maloghust!

Until next time
Chris

April's Fool 2021 - Sons of Horus Primaris - Games Workshop

Hello everyone

I recently finished this model, which is the first and most likely only Primaris Marine I will ever paint. The model was painted as a joke for April's Fool on my Instagram, you can see the post here. Most people recognized it as the joke it was, but a surprising amount of people believed everything in I wrote in that post :p

It was an awesome model to paint, most of the Primaris models are excellent, just a shame I don't really like the lore or the current iteration of the game.

Also if you are viewing this post between the 2nd and 9th of April I'm currently running a giveaway of this model which you can check out here.

Until next time!
Chris
