Ezekyle Abaddon - Wargame Exclusive

Hello everyone!
After reading "The Talon of Horus" by Aaron Dembski-Bowden, I knew I had to paint up an Abaddon mini, sadly Games Workshop most current version just isn't up to scratch, but luckily I had managed to get my hands on one of the first limited edition CHAOS MASTER OF CRUSADE from Wargame Exclusive. I don't think its on sale anymore, so if you would like one, you should probably look on Ebay or maybe write them directly?

This miniature was amazing (except for the sword, which I really didn't like) and just a joy to paint, the sculpt was nearly perfect, with only a minimum of mold lines and all the details came out so crisp. I would highly recommend anyone to check out Wargame Exclusives other miniatures.

Until next time.

Chris

Work in Progress - Abaddon - Wargame Exclusive

Hello everyone!

Just thought I would make a short post about my current project.
If you would like to see more regular WIP photos etc. you should follow me on Instagram @DornsArrow :)

But anyway, I'm currently painting this lovely miniature from Wargame Exclusive, I think this specific version a very limited edition, but they do make one which is almost the same.

Painting this has made me realize that I'm glad my main force if not Black Legion....so much bloody gold trim on these Chaos models :-D  However I'm trying to make it fit in with my Sons of Horus, and the main idea was to use this mini in an Apocalypse Campaign I'm currently playing in. Therefor I'm not going full 40k chaos on it.

Anyway hope you enjoy this little teaser, hopefully I will have it done soon :)

Grog Strongjaw - Critical Role - Geek & Sundry - Take 2

Hello everyone

Just wanted to post a couple of better pictures I took of my Grog Strongjaw miniature. I tinkered a bit with my camera, and realised that I've bee a taking fairly shitty pictured for very long, due to a setting that needed to be disabled..... Sigh. Since I'm shooting on Manual mode with my DLSR camera, I thought that I had control over everything, but sadly this setting kept "correcting" the ISO to 6400 without my knowledge, which always resulted in fairly grainy photos. This has now been fixed :-p it took like 3 years to figure out...yay me.

Anyway! Enjoy some non-grainy photos of my rendition of Grog Strongjaw, the Goliath Barbarian of Vox Machina, in the show Critical Role.

Steyr Pflager Katsumata Series-D Blaster (PKD Blaster) - Blade Runner

Hello everyone

Quick little post today about my just finished, rather alternative painting project. I always loved the PKD Blaster from the movie Blade Runner, but never really had the chance to get a replica of the gun. However earlier this year a water pistol version was released, so when the opportunity to get one fairly cheaply off E-Bay presented itself, I just had to do it.

I've never actually painting a movie prop before, so it was quite an interesting project and I think I got away with it fairly nicely. I would have loved to add some LED's, but the plastic of this watergun was so flimsy, I just didn't dare cut it up. I did however fill it with some sort of plaster, to give it a bit of weight and durability.

Considering this started out as a clear plastic watergun, I'm just so happy with the result :D

I would love to get my hands on a Tomenosuke Replica some day.....some day....

Well back to painting small plastic soldiers again!

Support Squads - Melta/Autocannons - Sons of Horus

Hello everyone

I recently finished the two Support Squads I was working on, so I thought I'd better share some pictures :)

1x Tactical Support Squad (5) - with Meltaguns
1x Heavy Support Squad (5) - with Autocannons

Hopefully I will some day bring both of these to 10 man squads, but that is very low on my to-do list :-p

Well hope you like them.

Fire Raptor - Sons of Horus

Hello everyone!

Totally forgot to add some pictures of my most recent finished project, but better late than never!
I've had this Fire Raptor fully assembled and standing on a shelf for probably nearly 6 months now, so I decided it was time to paint it!

Painting it was nearly as annoying as assembling it :-D so unhandy to handle while painting, but it was the same with the Glaive and Falchion, so nothing I hadn't dealt with before.
The cockpit and pilot is actually painted to the same standard as my normal marines, but no one will ever see it, since the canopy does not come off :-p

The canopy glass was done by airbrushing Tamiya Clear Red directly onto the clear plastic.

Anyway! more pictures.

I'm currently working on a 5 man Tactical Support Squad and a 5 man Heavy Support Squad, slowly getting there.

Until next time!

Falkus Kibre, Captain, 1st Company - Sons of Horus

Hello everyone!

Last post about my most recent finished projects.

I did another Praetor/Centurion for my army and decided to make my rendition of Falkus Kibre from Abaddons 1st. Company. Really love how it turned out.

His left arm is magnetized both at the shoulder and wrist (If I ever decide to paint up some Power Fists) and I painted 3 different melee weapons for him aswell.

The base mini is the Forgeworld Warhammer World/Event limited Terminator Praetor, which I just gave a Justaerin Terminator head and some more weapons.

Anyway have some picutres :p

Until next time

Praetor Tribune - Sons of Horus

Hello everyone!
Another small update today.

As mentioned in yesterdays post, I recently finished 3 smaller projects the Quad Mortar, this Praetor Tribune and another model. I've had this mini laying around for a while and just thought it would be a nice little addition to my ever growing army :-p

This mini looks a bit funky, it's probably the weapon as it just looks so different from most other melee weapons in the Adeptus Astartes arsenal. But was just a blast to paint :-D

Until next time

Yet another Rapier Quad Mortar - Sons of Horus

Hello everyone!

I just finished 3 little projects today and the first of them I'll show here is my 3. Quad Mortar :-p
Not really much to say about this, you can take 3 as a Squad in game, so I kinda had to paint another.

Hope you like it :)

Sons of Horus - Command Squad - Fixed

Hello everyone!

Little update today!

I had to paint up some new weapons for my Command Squad....You might remember that they were armed with Combi-weapons before, but after a little readup on their rules I noticed they can upgrade to Combi-BOLTERS....not weapons.... :P so I decided to paint up some Volkite Chargers for them instead (Which they can take yay).

Not much else to say ^^

Until next time

Sons of Horus - Praetor with Command Squad

Greetings

I just finished this little project today and I thought I would take some pictures and post them before bedtime....zZzZ its 1:23AM here at the moment :p

Anyway I really wanted to do a proper HQ section for my army so assembled a cool looking Praetor and a 5 man Command Squad to accompany him on the battlefield.

Really hope you like them, feedback is more than welcome, here, FB or Instagram :)
Oh! and before anymore ask, the banner/cloak is not freehanded but rather transfers from Forgeworld :p this has been asked quite a lot during the painting process. The transfer on the banner was a test of patience to do however.
