Horus Ascended - Sons of Horus - Forgeworld

Hello everyone

As you are most likely aware, if you follow me on Instagram, I semi-recently finished painting my Horus Ascended, which was a gift from a good mate of mine. I painted this over roughly 6 months while working on other things when it started to drive me a little crazy. I'm very happy with how it turned out overall, but there are a few things that I think could have been better, but I'm simply too lazy to actually try again.

As you might have noticed it's based on a 40mm base and the reason is simply that I highly doubt I'm ever going to actually play it as the Ascended version (which is on a 60mm base) because it would require a very big game to legally bring it in an army. So I managed to cut up his scenic base and fit it on a 40mm, then used Milliput to sculpt the rest of the base.

So yeah, super happy, but I'm never going to paint this model again that's for sure :-D

Anyway, more pictures.

Here are a few pictures with a lighter background as it makes quite a difference to how the model is perceived.

Hope you like it.

Until next time
Chris

Jaghatai Khan with Jetbike - Forgeworld + 3d Print

Hello everyone

I'm sure most of you have probably seen this by now, but I forgot to post the finished Jetbike base on the blog, so decided to rectify that mistake.

Anyway, I recently finished painting the second base for this Jaghatai commission I have been doing for a good friend of mine, so now I can play him on foot and jetbike and that's pretty cool I think. I'm so happy this project is finished as it has been quite a tortuous journey :-p

Next up I'm working on a beautiful custom sculpted miniature I was sent by Myles David (Lil'Legend), the model was traditionally sculpted by @Luxthantor and it's absolutely fantastic. Hopefully I'll have it done soon :-)

Now for more jetbike picture, enjoy!

Until next time
Chris

Jaghatai Khan, The Warhawk - Forgeworld

Hello everyone

If you've been following along on Instagram you have probably seen a couple (or hundred) work in progress pictures of this project. But for the last month and a half, I've been painting Jaghatai Khan for a friend of mine. I rarely do commissions, even for friends, and this project has helped me remind myself of why that is the case :-p.

I was never a big fan of this model and painting it has surprisingly not helped with that (which is usually the case), but the amount of "stuff" on this model is just out of this world. Especially all the gold was really a chore to paint, but I suppose it worked out in the end.

Nevertheless, I'm really happy with the overall result and I hope you like it too.

I'm actually also working on another base which includes a jetbike, so hopefully, I'll have that done soon.

If you have any questions or want to see what I'm working on, check out my Instagram (@dornsarrow)

Until next time

Angron The Red Angel - Primarch of the XII Legion - Forgeworld

"You kept that mule Kor Phaeron. Russ kept his kin-friends. The Lion kept Luther. Humans - brothers and foster fathers - saved and raised into Legion ranks. But not me. Not Angron, no. Did the Emperor teleport his gold-wrapped Custodians down to help me and my army? No. Did he free the War Hounds and order them to battle, fight alongside me? No. Did he save my brothers and sisters the way he spared and honoured the Lion's closest kin? The way he honoured Kor Phaeron? No, no and no. No mercy for Angron. Angron the Oathbreaker.
Angron the Betrayer."

Hello everyone
I usually never do any form of commission work and when I do it's usually small things for friends or maybe a birthday present as Alpharius. However one of my friends recently started getting into the Horus Heresy, but since he is colour blind and really dislike painting he's been getting it commission painted by another one of our friends. She didn't really feel like painting Angron though and since I've wanted to paint this miniature ever since it was released, I offered to paint it for a very small (too small it turned out...) sum of money :p

So here he is! in all his bloody glory. Angron Primarch of the World Eaters Legion painted over a month or two, but mostly during the first week of my summer vacation.

I hope you like it :) C&C is as usual much appreciated.

Next project is 5 more Tartaros Terminators for my Sons of Horus, so look forward to that I guess.

Alpharius - Primarch of the Alpha Legion - Forgeworld

Hello everyone!

Another quick post today.
For the past weeks, I've been working Alpharius as a secret birthday present for a friend of mine. She received it yesterday so now I can show it off.

Overall I'm very happy with the outcome, especially since I've never painted an Alpha Legion mini before so was a fun challenge. If I'd had more time somethings might have been overhauled but that is the problem with birthdays they are a hard deadline to move :-p

Next up is some more Sons of Horus stuff, so stay tuned for that :-)
