The Legend of Vox Machina - Critical Role - Steamforged Games

Hello Everyone!
To celebrate the ending of the first season of the Critical Role animated show "The Legend of Vox Machina" I decided to finally paint the remaining two miniatures from my Vox Machina set I got from their Kickstarter some years ago.

I only had Keyleth and Percy left to do, but those were probably also the most challenging of the lot.
Yesterday I stayed up to 4.30am to get Percy finished and some pictures taken, ready to post for the release of the last 3 episodes of the show, and also happened to be at the time of the live stream, so that was quite fortunate.

Overall it was a lot of fun painting these, even though I would have wished for them to be cast in a better material than this soft board game plastic, as it doesn't hold detail too well. But nevertheless, I'm really happy with the result I was able to achieve.

During my painting sessions, I spent a lot of time scouring the internet of other people's versions to get some inspiration on how others had painted certain parts of the miniatures, but I couldn't find too many good pictures of all angles of the model. So I hope the pictures below might be able to help others out in the future :-)

Grog Strongjaw

Keyleth

Percy

Pike Trickfoot

Scnalan Shorthalt

Vax'ildan

Vex'ahlia & Trinket

That's it for today, I'd highly recommend checking out "The Legend of Vox Machina on Amazon Prime if you like Fantasy and/or DnD

Until next time
Chris

Ezekyle Abaddon - Bust - Work in Progress

Hello everyone!
So I can't remember if I have shown this "miniature" on the blog yet, but since I took some "Current State" pictures yesterday I thought I might as well do it. The bust is probably about 25-30cm tall so it's fucking huge and very difficult to handle, but it's a great challenge to paint.
I've been working on this for some time now on/off, as I usually paint a bit on it, then take a little break with another more manageable project and then return to do some more. I've just finished working on all the leather strips so I think it's time for another break now.

The black armor is still very much WIP, but when I start on the shoulder pads and arm, I will probably finish all the black parts together, so they hopefully end up looking roughly the same :P

Until next time
Chris

Librarian - Sons of Horus - Forgeworld

Hello everyone!

I just finished painting this librarian earlier today so I thought I'd better make a post about it.
This project was actually meant as a side project to the current big one I'm working on at the moment. But since this was way more manageable I suppose I got carried away and finished it....so now I need a new side project :p

The miniature is a limited one from Forgeworld and I only think you can actually buy it at Warhammer World. I ended up converting it slightly as the original had a huge demon cloud coming out of his left hand and I really don't like effects like that on gaming pieces (Another story for display pieces), so I replaced his left arm, give him an axehead from Conversion World and a combi plasma.

Not much else to say, painted using the same techniques as always, so if you want to know more about that, I suggest you find check out the tutorials I made on this subject.

That's it for now! I will probably have another side project finished "soon" or at least before the main project is finished xD

Until then
Chris

PS.
I basically get custom name plates made for all my HQ figures, but I don't have a great name for this one. So if you want to help out and "win" the honour of naming this miniature head over to my Instagram and give your suggestion :)
