Ezekyle Abaddon - Sons of Horus - Ragnarwerk

Hello everyone

I have been working on this project for a little over 12 months now and today I'm finally willing to call it done. Its been a long road, with breaks in between to paint other things, but I'm so happy that it's finally over and I'm very happy with how it turned out.
The bust is beautifully sculpted by @vladfoxsculpture for Ragnarwerk based on art by the talented Mikhail Savier. It's about 27cm tall from base to top knot and it's very heavy, being made of huge chunks of resin.

If you want to see the full journey for yourself be sure to check out the hashtag #abaddonbust on Instagram, there I've tried to collect all posts I've made regarding this project.

Anyway, here's a lot more pictures of the finished model.

Well, that's it for now I suppose. Several people have asked if I some tutorial for some of the parts I painted, which I sadly don't, but I do have a little checklist I made for myself with the steps and colours used, which I will add to this post when I get the chance.

Until next time

Tarik Torgaddon - Sons of Horus - Pre-Heresy Mournival

Hello everyone

So this was another project I finished recently, actually painted at the same time as my Kalus Ekaddon miniature. This was a fun conversion to make even though it will probably never see much playtime (just as my Loken miniature). Now I have the full Pre-Heresy Mournival completed and that I think is pretty cool.

This miniature is based on the standard-bearer from the MKIV Command Set and a lot of parts from my old Loken model, which had to give its life to make this :-p If you want some more WIP photos check out my Instagram.

And here's the full Mournival completed.

Next up I will finish assembling some upcoming projects and then I will probably try and get my giant Abaddon bust finished before I paint more 28mm stuff.

Until next time
Chris

Kalus Ekaddon - Sons of Horus - Games Workshop/Forgeworld

Hello everyone

So I've recently been working on two character conversion projects, and I just finished this one today.
The other project is also finished and will probably make a post about it tomorrow.

But until then this will have to do.

This is my version of Kalus Ekaddon, Captain of the 1st Company Catulan Reavers. I have been wanting to add some Reavers to my army for ages and I'm currently in the process of assembling the first 15.
This conversion is based on the Night Lords Praetor from Forgeworld and then mixed with some 40k and SoH bits.

Until next time
Chris

Unarmoured Marines - Zone Mortalis Project - Tagged Events/Aus30k

Hello everyone

So if you follow me on Instagram (@DornsArrow) you have probably seen that a friend and I are currently working on painting a full 4x4 Zone Mortalis table. My mate Esben (@SendThe8th) bought this kit a while back when Aus30k did a Kickstarter for these miniatures and I volunteered to paint them.

So anyway I painted the marines as members of 5 different legions and you will probably be able to tell which. It was a really fun little project and a nice change from painting endless Zone Mortalis walls.

Until next time
Chris
