Guan Y - The Red Cloud - Luxthantor Miniatures

Hello everyone!

So when I started painting Jaghatai, I also started working on this miniature designed and sculpted by Luxthantor. The sculpt is simply fantastic, not much else to say, traditionally sculpted and then cast in resin. Sadly the pre-order is over and the model is no longer available, but if you are interested you should follow him on Instagram and check out his webpage regularly.

The kit came with 4 head options and a little human serf holding his sword, I choose to paint 2 of the heads and throw the remaining into the bitz box for later use. The serf I imagine will end up as a ZM objective when I get the time.

Next up I think I'll play some more Heresy v2 and get started assembling all the plastic in the new starter set. But the next real project will probably be for the Ultramarines, so stay tuned for that.

Until next time

Jaghatai Khan with Jetbike - Forgeworld + 3d Print

Hello everyone

I'm sure most of you have probably seen this by now, but I forgot to post the finished Jetbike base on the blog, so decided to rectify that mistake.

Anyway, I recently finished painting the second base for this Jaghatai commission I have been doing for a good friend of mine, so now I can play him on foot and jetbike and that's pretty cool I think. I'm so happy this project is finished as it has been quite a tortuous journey :-p

Next up I'm working on a beautiful custom sculpted miniature I was sent by Myles David (Lil'Legend), the model was traditionally sculpted by @Luxthantor and it's absolutely fantastic. Hopefully I'll have it done soon :-)

Now for more jetbike picture, enjoy!

Until next time

Jaghatai Khan, The Warhawk - Forgeworld

Hello everyone

If you've been following along on Instagram you have probably seen a couple (or hundred) work in progress pictures of this project. But for the last month and a half, I've been painting Jaghatai Khan for a friend of mine. I rarely do commissions, even for friends, and this project has helped me remind myself of why that is the case :-p.

I was never a big fan of this model and painting it has surprisingly not helped with that (which is usually the case), but the amount of "stuff" on this model is just out of this world. Especially all the gold was really a chore to paint, but I suppose it worked out in the end.

Nevertheless, I'm really happy with the overall result and I hope you like it too.

I'm actually also working on another base which includes a jetbike, so hopefully, I'll have that done soon.

If you have any questions or want to see what I'm working on, check out my Instagram (@dornsarrow)

Until next time

Torghun Khan - White Scars - Tutorial - Lil'Legend

Hello everyone!

Some might remember me posting some pictures of a White Scar marines I painted as a Secret Santa gift for my friend bb_miniatures last year. What you might not know, is that I actually wrote up a little guide on how I painted it, because the legend Myles David (Lil'Legend) asked if it was something I'd be interested in. After being locked away in a top-secret drawer, Myles has just posted up the guide on his website, and you can find it right HERE. I have also added the link to my collection of Painting Guides, this way it should be easy to find.

I was actually convinced I made a post about that model on this blog, but I can't find it, so was probably just a dream.

But I'll just post some now :-D hope you enjoy and please check out the guide. If you try it out I'd love to hear how it went!

In other news I've also recently finished painting Maloghurst The Twisted, pictures are up on Instagram, but will make a post here soon with some hi-res pictures. Next project is something totally different than normal, so look forward to that.

Until next time
Chris
