Falkus Kibre, The Widow Maker - Sons of Horus - Forgeworld

Hello everyone!

So I just recently finished this model, the relatively new Sons of Horus Terminator from Forgeworld.
This was an absolute pleasure to paint and in my opinion, one of the best models Forgeworld has made in quite a while. I only did minor alterations on this one, pretty much just the head and a few more weapons (praise magnet Jesus).

Painted like all my other black armoured Sons of Horus (check the painting guide section for my tutorial) and then some more work done on the final highlights. To be fair the black armour didn't quite turn out how I wanted it, but I'm still very pleased with my result. The cloak and all the gold trim I'm really happy with so it kinda balances it out :-D

Anyway here are some more pictures

And because Instagram demanded it, here are a few group shots of all my Justaerin to date. Still have a few more I need to paint, but that will have to wait.

The next project is a Primarch I'm painting for a good friend of mine, probably won't post about it here until it's done, so follow along on Instagram if you are interested.

Until next time

Horus Aximand - Lux Thantor Miniatures

Hello everyone!

Two posts in two days!? that's just madness! But it's true I assure you :-D
So while painting the Forgeworld Praetor I also worked on this custom sculpt by Lux Thantor of Horus Aximand, based on the book art of the Horus Heresy book "The Either" by Graham McNeill.

Together with a few other enthusiasts in the community, we commissioned this model and had it cast in a very limited quantity afterward (with permission of course), so this model is not available for purchase and probably never will be. This is not a 3d designed model but a traditionally sculpted model (proof) and it's absolutely fantastic.

It was such a joy to paint up and I only did minor alterations on the miniature before I started painting it. Painting wise there isn't much to report, as I painted it exactly like I did on the FW Praetor I posted about yesterday.

Anyway, I really hope you like it as much as I do :-) here are some more pictures of the finished model.

Until next time

Sons of Horus Praetor - Forgeworld

Hello everyone!

It has been a while since my last post, so first of all, I'd like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Newyear!
Even though its been a while since I posted, I have been doing quite a bit of hobbying over my Christmas break, working on some new version of some already existing characters in my Sons of Horus army. So first up is my second version of my own character Anaxis Pythees, which was actually the first HQ model I painted for my army, if you go back through my posts you'll find it somewhere in 2017 I think.

This model was actually gifted to me by a guy on Instagram, for the sole reason that he wanted to ensure I got around to painting it. Never had that happen before, but it was really generous of him.

I did some minor conversion work on the mode, primarily on his right arm which was cut into several pieces and then pined and green stuffed together again, to get a better angle for the sword (which is from Conversion World). The model is painted in my usual scheme, but like I did with Maloghurst I did some more brush highlighting in the end instead of just a simple edge highlight. I'm overall rather happy with how this one turned out and I'm really looking forward to painting the Terminator Praetor!

Anyway, enough talk here's a little 360 view.

Invictarii Veteran Tactical Squad - Ultramarines

Hello everyone

As you might have noticed I've been working on a little Ultramarine Zone Mortalis force lately and today I just finished another unit. This time it's a simple Veteran Squad with a few special weapons and not much else. I'm getting pretty close to having 1000pts now!

The next unit will probably be either 10 Breachers, a Contemptor, or more terminators, but I haven't really decided yet.

Now I really need to get back working on the Abaddon bust.

Until next time

Invictarus Suzerain - Ultramarines - Forgeworld

Hello everyone

I recently just finished another unit for my Ultramarine ZM/Centurion army, this some a 5 man group of Invictarus Suzerain. These took a very long time to paint, as basically every model as Primarch amounts of gold and trim on them.

But now that they are done and looking splendid if I should say so myself, I'm very glad I did it. I have 5 more in a box somewhere, that I will most likely do at some point. But since they are very monopose I might end up kitbashing the next 5, but I haven't decided yet.

The next unit I will be painting for my Ultramarines will be a standard cheap veteran group. But first I will go back and work some more on the Abaddon bust.

Also here's a few pictures of my "army" so far, complete with mascot and everything :-p
I still need to get a nameplate made for Cat-o Sicarius.

Until next time
Chris

Fulmentarus Terminator Strike Squad - Ultramarines - Games Workshop/Forgeworld

Hello everyone

So my second "Secondary Project" while painting the giant Abaddon bust was just finished today. My first squad for my ZM/Centurion Ultramarines, a squad of Fulmentarus Terminators (with way to many weapon options....and still need the combi meltas >.<).

These was a blast to paint, so fun to paint something else than Sons of Horus for a change.
If you want to know how I (basically) painted these I would suggest taking a look at Myles Davids (Lil'Legends) Patreon. He makes a lot of great painting tutorials and has some excellent Ultramarines content, also make sure to check out Matt Kanes Ultramarines!

The Power weapons are from Conversion World.

Update 13.04.2020

So I felt the first pictures were a bit to the dark side, so tried taking some new ones including some better close-ups, hope you enjoy :-)

Wish this was a legal setup...

Next up is more progress on Abaddon.

Until next time
Chris
